State Rejects Lehigh Appeal: On March 11, 2020, in a 3-page letter, The California Department of Conservation State Mining and Geology Board declined to accept Lehigh’s November 2019 appeal for the State to assume oversight of their mine instead of the County: “Lehigh raises three grounds for its appeal. As discussed below, we believe these grounds are insufficient to justify an appeal, at least at this time.”
